AUTHOR AND MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER
For thirty-five of my forty year teaching career I had the joy of teaching middles school mathematics in Brevard county. Now as an author I have the opportunity to give back through my book Missing Pieces and presentations:
1. My royalties from Missing Pieces will go directly to Nana's House
2. I purchase Missing Pieces to give away at Nana's House book signings for every donation of $20.
3. Each month of the school year I donate class sets of Missing Pieces to local schools.
4. Free presentations to all local schools, churches ,groups and organizations.
5. Click here to read about the MILLION BOOK MISSION FOR NANA'S HOUSE
Below are quotes from Missing Pieces which are the center of my classroom and school presentations. The part in red are in the presentations, but not in the book.
- How you view the ‘IM’ on impossible changes everything. Think I am able and you are.
- Setbacks are setups filled with possibilities To those who persevere failure does not exist.
- The difference between winners and losers is often the level of their expectations. What we expect we work to get.
- You have got to believe it before you can see it. We believe what we tell ourselves
- Always look with eyes that expect to see results. Expect success and you will never stop until you achieve it.
- Positive futures come from positive presents. A day is composed of 50,000 thoughts which we control . Make them positive.
- All floods begin with a single drop of rain. Be the drop that floods the world with kindness. Kindness opens the mind .
- If you’re searching for nothing, chances are that’s what you’ll find...nothing. Look for the good.
- Thoughts are the most powerful force in the universe. One thought has the power to change the course of an entire life.
- A person is what they think about all the time. Our voice is the only voice in our head. What are we telling ourselves?
- Words turn into thoughts—thoughts turn into plans—plans turn into things you do—things you do all the time become habits, and your habits, good or bad, make up who you are. What we think becomes who we are.
- We all do things we’re not proud of. Don’t let those things define who you are. The past is not the future.
- I see the kind of person I want to be in my thoughts and I try to live that way. Live your dreams today.
- Focus your thoughts on good.. Replacing negatives with positives changes how we see the world.
- Negative thinking eats opportunities. Those who say I can't could be those who say I can.
- There are opportunities in everything if you look hard enough. Failure is filled with seeds of success.
- When you catch yourself thinking a negative thought, replace it with a positive. It's the key to unlocking incredible power.
- “Nobody changes everything at once. It’s like building a bridge; with each brick you get closer to the other side. Change one brick at a time. Dreams become reality when fed a steady diet of perseverance.
- It’s all about choices. Today was built on choices from yesterday. Tomorrow will be built on choices made today.
- Some focus on darkness, some focus on light. What you choose to see will change your life.
Missing Pieces is designed to be a thrilling adventure mystery and a life coach. Packed with teachable moments Missing Pieces fills in the missing pieces. It's all about lifting up young minds. Missing Pieces while fictional is laced with reality. The character Melvin Bramble is based on my stepfather who took pleasure in abusing my mother, my two brothers, and myself. Fortunately, I had a courageous mother, who on a cold winter’s night loaded a car with her three boys and escaped that house of horrors. She had no job and no money, but she did have a sister, who took us in while she looked for work. As you read this, thousands of families are going through the same nightmare as I did, only for them, they have no place to go, no one to turn to, and no hope for escape. Maybe you are a member of one of those families. If you need a safe loving home for your children until you can get on your feet, contact Nana’s House. Their Mission is to provide a safe, secure, loving home where children ages newborn to eleven-year-old can come and experience God’s love. They can help you find the missing pieces and turn your negatives into positives.
